Welcome to everybody

Hello everyone! We'd like to welcome you all to this new place in Zurbaran School.
First of all, we want to say welcome to everybody who gets in touch with this blog and "everybody" means, not just the students working on Science with us, but also parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, all family members or friends that are interested in knowing about what our students are doing in the sessions called "Science is Fun"
We also hope this blog could be an appealing place to visit, listen, read and speak the English language. We want to get in touch with you, but remember "It's English time" and we have to communicate in English. We know it's difficult sometimes but we can try (Forget about the mistakes you may make, and if so, you may forget the ones I will surely make)
We also can not forget that Science is the subject we will work on, so everything you know about it and about the topics we are developing in the class, please let us know!
Bye by know. Watch, listen, read, and if possible, have fun with us!

What's the weather like in Zurbaran? Can you say?

Here they are again. Now the students from Zurbaran School are ready to tell you what  the weather is and will be like sooner or later. Maybe the most interesting part of it are some useful advices the song gives us to take into account when weather changes. Pay attention to the lyrics and to all the miming the students do, it will help you to understand the meaning of the song.

Have fun!!!

The very fatty bear loves oils, fats and sweets

Fatty Bear knows he is fat, very fat and he also knows why. He likes eating food like chips, doughnuts, honey and fizzy drinks, and, as you know, they contain lots of fats. That's not too bad when it's winter and you need to keep warm, but be careful! If you eat too many fats you will get fatter and fatter and fatter... and that's not healthy. Fatty Baer says that he will make a healthy diet in spring, that he will eat lots of fish, nuts and beans. Do you believe him? What is the best food group if he needs these items of food? What are the main nutrients in this food group? Can you help the fatty bear; please?

Vegy Reindeer loves onions. What about you?

Vegy Reindeer loves green food. He also knows that vegetables contain many important nutrients like vitamins, minerals and fibre, they are really healthy.
Children don't usually like green food, so if you are a child listen to this particular reindeer and you may find some reasons to eat vegs however you don't like them.

Milky Cat loves French cheese. What about you?

Milky cat is a very preppy cat. She thinks that all the other cats are silly and stupid because they don't like French Cheese. Maybe she is intelligent because she eats lots of milk products and, as you know, they are necessary to grow up and to have healthy bones and teeth. But the other cats are clever too, because they drink milk and, as you know, milk has got lots of calcium and proteins.
